What Do You Love?
"What do you do?" is a question that is about as automatic as it gets when meeting someone new. It also happens to be dreaded by many, namely those who are undergoing career changes or hoping to seek out an identity outside of their 9-5.
Posing the question "What do you love?" instead invites people to open up about the things that actually make them who they are and truly make them tick. Deeper and more meaningful conversations can abound if we seek to learn more about someone's "why"s over their "what"s, and back-burnering the topic of their past, present, or future occupation.
Join host Justin Gott for this weekly show as he presents the titular question to thoughtful and interesting people in order to learn more about the them that exists outside of their daily line of work... and maybe pick up a thing or two about himself in the process.
What Do You Love?
Higher Education & "Sex and the City"
My guest for this episode is Kim Fleming. During our hour together, we had probably the most wide-ranging conversation that I’ve published yet. We talked about the difference between the bonds we form with actual family versus the ones with our closest friends, recalled memories of being bullied as kids and the long term effects of those experiences, the pros and cons of higher education, making big changes in life (and living with those decisions), and ultimately, why she loves the show “Sex and the City.”
